The Yes 2 Save Lives campaign's new, statewide 30-second TV spots focus on personal stories about the need to improve trauma care in GA. In one ad, a Georgia mother talks about her 3-year-old son's tragic drowning accident; in the second, a paramedic with close to three decades of experience discusses his perspective.
Spot excerpts:
- Stephanie McConnell's son John Michael drowned in his grandparents' pool. The mother says that the "local hospital did the best they could with what they had." She urges Georgia voters to approve Amendment 2: "I can’t bring my son back. But if I can do something to save just one life, then he won’t have died in vain."
- EMT Chad Black, a lifelong GA resident, has “witnessed far too many lives lost because Georgia doesn't have an adequate trauma system…Amendment 2 is gonna save lives; it’s dedicated funding to save lives.”
If passed, Amendment 2 will generate $80 million a year.
