I'm a big fan of Dave Cossman and I think that he's right. The government, the plaintiff attorneys, the insurance companies and the circus sideshow of companies that spring up to "help" us comply with Byzantine regulations while bleeding us into professional shock have crucified our profession--especially the independent private practice of surgery--on the cross of our own altruism.
