Website tells doctors which EMRs make them eligible for incentive pay

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has created a website that lists the electronic medical record systems that have been tested and certified as meeting federal "meaningful use" requirements. Physicians and hospitals that use these systems can earn incentive payments, as stipulated by the 2009 economic stimulus package.
An ONC-authorized testing and certification body has tested each module listed at the site (onc-chpl.force.com/ehrcert/).
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will accept only these systems as meeting the meaningful use criteria. Eligible physicians could receive as much as $44,000 over five years from Medicare, or nearly $64,000 over six years from Medicaid. Three authorized bodies can certify -- the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology, based in Chicago; the Drummond Group, based in Austin, Texas; and InfoGuard Laboratories, based in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
